To reserve specific seats for certain purposes, use the Hold feature. You can apply holds after setting up your venue and creating a seating chart.

Note: When setting up your event, select Yes for Is this a reserved seating event?

Types of Holds
There are two ways a hold can be created for reserved seating events.
- Held for Box Office sales only: These seats are not available for online purchase
- Marked as unavailable: These seats cannot be purchased online or at the box office.
How to Create Holds
- Click Edit (pencil icon) next to the event where you want to hold seats
- In the left sidebar, click Seating Chart
After opening the seating chart, you can either hold seats for box office sales or mark seats as unavailable.
Holding Seats for Box Office Sales Only
Seats held for box office sales can only be purchased in person at the box office. These seats will not be available for online purchase.
To create a hold for box office sales:
- Click Manage Hold Types.
- Click Add Hold Type.
- Enter a Hold Type Name and select a Hold Type Color, then click Save.
- To add another hold type, click + Add Another Hold Type. If you’re done, click Close (X) to exit the window.
To apply a hold to seats:
- From the Current Tool dropdown, select Apply/Remove Holds.
- Choose the hold type you want to apply.
- Click on the seat(s) you want to hold. The Seat Category, Row, and Seat Number will be displayed when you select a seat. The seat(s) will change to the selected hold type color.
Marking Seats Unavailable
Seats marked as unavailable cannot be purchased online or at the box office.
To mark seats as unavailable:
- From the Current Tool dropdown, select Mark Unavailable.
- Click on the seat(s) you want to mark as unavailable. The seat(s) will turn grey, indicating they are unavailable for purchase.
