Ticket quantity and Event capacity

One of the key components to selling tickets is how many tickets you have to sell. We will break down what we mean by ticket quantity and event capacity, so your event sells smoothly and efficiently.

Ticket Types

With TicketLeap, you can add a variety of tickets for your event. Each ticket can be customised by name, price option, and available quantity that you can customise. Ticket types vary from General Admission to VIP, Standing Room Only, and Early Bird Specials. Whatever your need is, the ticket is customisable!

Ticket Quantity

Ticket quantity refers to the number of available tickets for a specific ticket type. It does not refer to the total number of tickets available to your attendees. This field is optional, but leaving it empty doesn't mean unlimited tickets. Your event can only sell up to the Event Capacity, regardless of the number of ticket types and their quantities.

For example, this event has two ticket types: General Admission and VIP. They have different quantities, adding up to a total of 65 available tickets. Once one ticket type sells out, attendees can only purchase the remaining ticket types.

Ticket Types with No Set Quantity

Sometimes, you might not need to set a quantity for your ticket types. In that case, you can sell any combination of tickets until you reach the Event Capacity.

Ticket Types with Set and Unlimited Quantities

If only one ticket type has a set quantity, it will be sold until it's gone or the event capacity is reached. Any other ticket types without a set quantity will continue to sell until the event capacity is reached.

Event Capacity

Setting an event capacity limits the total number of tickets available. For example, if you can fit 100 people in your venue and are not concerned with how many of each ticket type is purchased, you'd want to set your event capacity at 100 and leave your ticket quantities blank.

Venue Capacity

Venues created in TicketLeap can have a set capacity. The Event Capacity field will default to the Venue Capacity. You can set a venue capacity if you need it, but it is not required.

If the Venue Capacity is not indicated, or you have selected Venue to be added later it will prompt you to enter the Event Capacity first. Once you enter the capacity value, click the right arrow to lead you to the Tickets for your event.
